This site is designed by me, Gabi Lipan, in Glasgow and coded with Claude Code. It collects very little information. This page says exactly what, and why.

What you send me

If you use the contact form, I receive your email address, your name (if you give one) and your message. They are stored in this site’s database and emailed to me. I use them only to reply to you, and I delete a message when I no longer need it.

To keep spam out, the site also stores a scrambled version of your internet address with the message: a one-way code, not the address itself. It is used only to count how many messages come from one place in an hour.

What this site does not do

• The site itself does not set cookies.
• It does not use advertising or tracking tools, and nothing follows you from one website to another.
• It loads nothing from other companies except any embedded external videos you choose to play: even the typefaces are served by this site itself.
• It does not ask you to create an account (although I may add features like this in the future).

Your colour theme choice (light, dark or automatic) and any similar personalisation choices I may add are remembered on your own device, in your browser’s storage. It is never sent to me.

Counting visits

To learn which pages are read, the site counts page visits, and only counts. Each page view adds one to a total for the day, the page, the kind of screen (phone, tablet or desktop), the country the visit came from and the website that linked here. It does not record what you click, how you move around a page or how long you stay. The site does not keep your internet address, set a cookie, give you an ID or store anything that could tell one visitor from another, and nothing is kept per visit, so no count can be traced back to you. That is why it does not ask for your consent. Totals are kept for 14 months. If your browser sends “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control”, nothing is counted.

Other companies involved

• Cloudflare hosts this site, its database and its pictures and videos, and delivers it to you. Like any web host, it processes your requests and may keep short-lived technical logs, such as your internet address, to run and protect the service.
• YouTube and Vimeo, only on pages where I have put a video. YouTube is used in its privacy-enhanced mode and Vimeo with tracking switched off, but they still receive your internet address when the video loads, and may set their own cookies.
• Links to other sites, LinkedIn for example, lead to places with their own rules.

You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Write to hello@gabilipan.com and I will do it.
